What's Your Take?
If you’ve been on Google today at all, you’ll notice what hopefully is familiar to: work from the late Keith Haring.
Haring was a prominent figure in popular culture and modern art who rose to prominence in the 1980s and left a strong mark on American culture.
Haring’s father was a cartoonist and he grew up with an interest in art. He studied at the Ivy School of Professional Art in Pittsburg and later continuing at the School of Visual Arts.
Haring was greatly inspired by graffiti and art in public spaces. His work is most known for being characteristically bold and also vivid in color. He also often collaborated with musicians, such as Madonna.
Haring died on February 16,1990 at age 31. Today would have been his 54th birthday.
What do you think of Haring’s work? Have you seen any of it in person, such as down in New York City?
