Just a week ago, the Capital Region welcomed yet another tattoo parlor to the area. However, there is something in particular about this shop’s owner that may earn it some immediate respect.

Back in 2011, Jessica Gahring made her reality debut as shop manager at Wooster Street Social Club — the tattoo parlor featured in TLC’s NY Ink. And just a few months ago, she appeared as a celebrity guest at the First Annual Saratoga Tattoo Expo. Now, the Vestal native and Russell Sage grad has returned to the area to open her very own shop — Ms. Dixie’s Tattoo and Pin Up Parlour, located at 784 Pawling Avenue in Troy.

Ms. Dixie’s has featured specials all week long, including Rose Wednesday and Tat(two)sday. Additionally, 50 helium balloons were let loose on opening day, five of which contained tattoo coupons. It is not known whether all five discount-laden balloons have been found, so keep your eyes peeled if you happen to be in the area.
