What's Your Take?
Starbucks really is everywhere. Or at least sometimes it may feel that way.
As reported, a South Carolina funeral home is including a Starbucks Coffee shop in a planned expansion of their facilities.
The Starbucks will reside in the Robinson Funeral Home in Easley and will be named the “Coffee Corner.” The expansion also will include a business office and a chapel.
The owner of the fourth-generation funeral home and crematory, Chris Robinson, said that coffee has always been a part of the family business. He says that his great-grandfather began the business inside a general store.
The home has hired a full Starbucks staff and always will be open to both the public and those attending services.
He also stated that the funeral home will still provide homemade coffee at services for free of charge.
I can see how having a Starbucks on premises could comfort some, but is it really appropriate? I could see how from a business perspective it could be a positive addition but I could also see how it could serve as a distraction for those attending a service.
Do you think that Starbucks should be in all funeral homes? What do you think about it? Good thing or bad? Harmless or offensive?
