We have a hard time understanding just how sexual predators get their prey.

Some actually are kidnapped, others may consider the offender a personal family friend. What about the others?

There’s the story in the Times Union about the Troy sicko who “forced a 9-year-old girl into sadomasochistic child pornography with a developmentally disabled woman.”

We don’t get how that happens.

How did he have access to a nine-year-old and the disabled woman at the same time? Where was the mother of this child or the guardian of the woman?

We’re parents. We know where our nine-year-old is constantly and with whom. We don’t know all the details of this situation in the TImes Union, but the guy has repeated offenses, continues to get out, and continues to repeat his sick behavior.

He’s so delusional, he even tried to blame it on the disabled woman.

We’re sure he has a mental illness, but where were the caretakers for these victims? We want to know.
