What's Your Take?

As announced on his blog, Friday Puppy, Matt Baumgartner, a local restaurant owner and entrepreneur, said that next month his business partners and he will be opening a restaurant called Sciortino’s in the diner cart next to Wolff’s Biergarten, which is in North Albany’s Warehouse District.

The restaurant is named after his grandparents, Frank & Rachel Sciortino, who are from Utica, NY. Unfortunately, his grandfather passed away a day before he made the announcement. Matt wrote that he had hoped he would have lived long enough to see the restaurant open but it wasn’t in the cards.

Sciortino’s is going to be a “casual, Italian restaurant featuring some of my grandparent’s recipes and other delicious stuff like meatballs, pizza and pitchers of beer (!!!).”

Our condolences to the loss in your family and congrats on Albany’s latest gain.

Are you excited to see another business open? Are you going to eat at Sciortinos? Are you a fan of Baumgartner’s other businesses such as Bomber’s and the Biergarten?
