On Monday in Louisiana, Mitchell Guist, the reality star of “Swamp People,” passed away. His autopsy and more details regarding his death is set to be released sometime on Wednesday.

He was aboard a boat near Belle River Landing in the southern part of the state when it appeared that he had a seizure, according to Assumption Parish Sheriff Mike Waguespack, citing an unidentified man who was with Guist.

The reality star then fell on the boat.

911 was called and the man with Guist towed both his boat and Guist’s boat back to the landing, as well as performed CPR.

He was pronounced dead at the Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City later on. “He passed on the swamp, doing what he loved,” read a statement from the History Channel.

“Swamp People” is the popular History Channel TV series that chronicles the lives of alligator hunters in Louisiana.
