What's Your Take?
Albany2cents.com posted a video a few weeks back from misstravel.com. If you viewed it, you probably thought it was a joke.
Sadly, it’s not a joke or even funny (at least to me – see video below). You decide.
Miss Travel is a real company that brings “generous” travelers, the likes of bankers, lawyers, doctors, athletes and executives, together with “attractive” escorts who can’t afford to travel otherwise. The silly little video makes it sound like a simple win-win for all. It starts out with “Are you attractive, but you don’t have the money to travel?”
Seriously!
These rich folks “hate to travel alone and are looking to travel with an attractive person.” Maybe someone who’s better looking than the wife at home with the four kids?
And who exactly determines just who is and isn’t attractive? I’m guessing photo submissions are a must. And then what? The “generous travelers” get a little black book of names and pictures to choose from? Isn’t this illegal or called something else like prostitution? Instead of cold, hard cash the traveling pal gets nights in five star hotels and dinners at top rated restaurants, “all for free.” I don’t think so!
“Free” in return for additional services, yes.
I can’t believe a company gets away with this. It’s so in-you-face illegal and yet, must come under some loophole that allows the obvious to pass by right under our noses. Think Eliot Spitzer and Secret Service – why didn’t they just use Miss Travel? It may have panned out better for everyone involved; sure it all would have gone down in a similar fashion, but somehow it would have looked better.
Maybe.
Has anyone ever used Miss Travel? You have to let us know if there is some legitimacy to this company. We’d like to know – give us your 2cents.
