For those seeking a job without a college degree [OPINION]

Recently, a friend of mine has been struggling to find a decent, full-time job that can pay the bills. This seems to be a familiar story these days, but still I feel awful every time she tells me excitedly about her next big interview, and then…nothing. And lately, she’s been interviewing for odd jobs in just about every field.
So I was beginning to think that she needed a bit more of a plan. Given my friend doesn’t have a college degree, just a high school diploma, and doesn’t have any particular job in mind that she would like to make a career out of, I logged on to careerbuilder.com to find a few positions that might spark her interest.
Three articles popped out at me.

- 9 jobs that aren’t entry-level but don’t require a degree
Many of these articles featured overlaps, and several of them listed jobs that didn’t necessarily require degrees, but rather licenses or postsecondary vocational awards (things that can generally be obtained in a shorter amount of time than a college degree). Best of all, the average salaries for all of these positions were listed as well. I handed these lists off to my friend to see if any of them sparked her interest. Now, I’m posting a few of them here for anyone in a similar position (and, if you’re having different career troubles, careerbulider.com is great for just about everything).
