Are you the 47 percent?  [OPINION]

One irony of Mitt Romney’s leaked criticism of the 47 percent of Americans who don’t pay income tax is that Romney may be a member of the club himself, since he pays almost no income tax relative to his vast wealth.

Don’t believe it? Ask Mitt Romney. In a January debate, Romney criticized a proposal by Newt Gingrich to eliminate capital gains taxes because ultra-wealthy investors like Romney would pay virtually no taxes at all in such a scenario. That’s because Romney’s estimated $250 million fortune comes almost entirely from investment income that isn’t covered by income tax.

Then the comment 47% of Americans are looking for handouts?  So basically half of every person in America is a loser, according to Mitt.  If there are two people in your house right now, there is basically a 50/50 chance he’s talking about you.

There is so much misinformation out there it drives me crazy! Tax returns were filed, and revealed, and he does pay ‘em. Will I vote for him? I honestly have not yet decided as they are both huge disappointments!

He paid what he owed by law. If you have a problem it should be with the law, not Romney.

Damn right. But too bad he made such a scene holding them back…only makes it look bad for him like he has done something wrong. You made a good point, tho.

The problem is Romney found every possible loop hole to avoid paying taxes. One example is hiding money in other countries or islands. It is legal if you can afford a team of experts and the law should be changed. The problem is, this is the guy running for President to represent America. It’s kind of like if you want to be a teacher but you never took all the classes because you transferred from some other country. It might be legal but your still not qualified.
